Uniform Resource Locator (URL)

 

A way of providing the user with a way to locate online content. It contains a protocol which is used to access the resource and the resource name.

 

Protocols are a special set of rules that conclude points into the form of a telecommunication connection when they communicate.

 

The first half of the URL identifies the used protocol, the last half finds out where the IP Address or domain name are placed.
URI is the most frequently used form of URL, URI’s are a form of characters that analyse the resource using the network.
