Global Systems for Mobile

A digital telephony system that uses a variation of time division. It is the most used form of wireless telephony technology out of three that are used worldwide (TDMA, GSM and CDMA).

The job of GSM is to computerize and squeeze data, and then transfer the data into another channel that contains two other streams of user’s data, into separate time brackets.
GSM operates under megahertz (either at 900 or 1800 frequency to be exact).
